RAJKOT: A 23-year-old man from Rajkot in Gujarat allegedly hanged himself after failing the competitive examinations required for seeking a state government job.

The victim, identified as Jayesh Sarvaiya, was from the Rajkot district's Gondal town. It is believed that he hanged himself from a ceiling fan and left a suicide note for his family beside his body.

According to the deceased victim's suicide note, it read "I was sure I could pass the competitive exams for Class-3 at the very least, but I was wrong. In addition to failing the "Bin Sachivalay clerk" exams, I also failed the clerical tests for the Junior Clerk position with the Forest Department in Talati. The fact that Bhagat Singh gave his life at my age to save the nation makes me feel depressed right now. I am tired, I can not decide what should I do going ahead, left with no hope I am quitting because I failed myself and you all..."

He also said:  "I spent a lot of time convincing myself that I couldn't cheat you, which kept me alive today. However, I have since gone conceited and am leaving this world, leaving each of you to take care of yourselves. I apologise; I'm leaving this world without paying off your bills." The dead wrote a pleasant note before his passing expressing his gratitude to his family for their assistance during his two years as an apprentice, during which he earned little money.

His final two wishes before passing away were to use the funds in his bank account for his sister's wedding and to forgo spending money on funeral rites. The other wish was that his organs should be donated so that other people in need could survive.
