Notably, Bhaya is appointed as a member of the Council of the Administrative Conference of the United States (ACUS), an autonomous federal agency responsible for assembling knowledgeable representatives from both public and private sectors. Their task involves proposing enhancements to administrative processes and protocols.
The primary objective of ACUS is to advocate for efficiency, inclusivity, and equity in the formulation of federal regulations and the execution of federal programs.
Shakuntla L. Bhaya holds a co-ownership position in a reputable Delaware law firm called the Law Offices of Doroshow, Pasquale, Krawitz & Bhaya. Her legal practice revolves around advocating for individuals who have suffered significant injuries due to unsafe decisions made by businesses or individuals, according to an official statement from the White House.
For the past seven years, Bhaya has served as a member of Governor Carney’s Judicial Nominating Commission, showcasing her dedication to public service.
Beyond her legal profession, Bhaya actively engages in Delaware's political sphere and presently serves as a member of the Delaware Democratic Party’s State Executive Committee.
Having previously held the position of President at the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association, she continues her commitment to safeguarding consumers' Seventh Amendment Right to a jury trial and ensuring access to the courts.
Shakuntla L. Bhaya is also affiliated with organizations such as the American Association for Justice and the American Civil Liberties Union, actively supporting the election of pro-choice Democratic women to political offices.
