Washington: US President Joe Biden has said he is ready to meet North Korean ruler Kim Jong-un, but the two should hold talks on North Korea's nuclear program. After a bilateral meeting between US President Joe Biden and South Korean President Moon Jae-in at the White House on Saturday, Biden said the two countries want the Korean Peninsula to remain nuclear weapon-free.

However, he also said that it would be extremely difficult to convince North Korea to give up the nuclear program. The two leaders discussed the threat posed by North Korea's nuclear program and China's growing dominance in East Asia. In a joint press conference held after the discussion, Joe Biden said his aim was to "completely denuclearize" the Korean Peninsula.

He said he was ready for talks with Kim Jong-un, but North Korea had to be ready to talk about its nuclear program. Biden said, "If there is a commitment to dialogue, I am ready to meet Kim Jong-un. And this commitment should be to negotiate nuclear weapons".
