In shocking news for fans of Johnny Depp, the actor on Friday said that  he is resigning from the Fantastic Beasts movie franchise.  According to the reports,  he announced his resignation after losing a libel case in Britain against a tabloid that called him a “wife beater.”  Johnny Depp revealed on Instagram in a shocking statement that he was asked to resign by Warner Bros. from his role as Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts 3. 

The 57-year-old actor writing on Instagram said that AT&T Inc’s Warner Bros movie studio had asked him to leave his role as villain Gellert Grindelwald.  He said, “I have respected and agreed to that request." Reacting to the big news Warner Bros. confirmed that the role of Grindelwald will now be recast for the upcoming Fantastic Beasts 3. "Johnny Depp will depart the Fantastic Beasts franchise. We thank Johnny for his work on the films to date," their statement began, via Just Jared, before revealing, "Fantastic Beasts 3 is currently in production, and the role of Gellert Grindelwald will be recast. 

The third instalment of the Fantastic Beasts franchise recently resumed production and is expected to arrive in theatres in 2022. Now, Johny's fans are reasting to the decision by Warner Bros. to ask Johnny Depp to resign from playing Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts franchise?
