Mumbai: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar and Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray held a joint press conference at around 1 am on Saturday (23 November) after the formation of the new government in Maharashtra. NCP chief Pawar clarified that Ajit Pawar's decision to support BJP was a personal decision and the party is against BJP. Interestingly, some MLAs who went with Ajit Pawar were seen sitting with Sharad Pawar.

MLA Rajendra Shingne spoke at the press conference. Shingne said the MLAs who accompanied Ajit Pawar had no idea about the swearing-in. NCP MLA Rajendra Shingne said, "Ajit Pawar called me to discuss something and from there I was taken to Raj Bhavan with other MLAs. The oath-taking ceremony was completed before we could understand anything. I went to Pawar saheb and told him that I am with you and NCP. ''

At the same time, Sharad Pawar has claimed that Devendra Fadnavis will not be able to prove a majority. We are all united. All the 54 MLAs were signed in the letter that Ajit Pawar had.
