New Delhi: Since nearly every cricket-playing country has launched its premier T20 league, the T20 format is expanding quickly. Since they now own many franchises in these emerging leagues, IPL owners have increased their power with the emergence of new leagues.
Major League Cricket, ILT20, SA20, Caribbean Premier League, and the IPL all include IPL owners.
Since the expansion, the IPL owners have made an effort to sign players to play for all of their international franchises. To that purpose, they have created contracts that demand that the players play for all of their extended teams across leagues while forgoing their national contract.

In the most recent development, Rajasthan Royals intend to extend a four-year contract to Jos Buttler so that he can play for RR and other teams under the same management. Jos does not currently play for Barbados Royals in the CPL; instead, he plays for RR in the IPL and Paarl Royals in the SA20.

By agreeing to the terms of the contract, Buttler would have to cancel his international contract and get permission from RR management to represent The Three Lions in white-ball cricket. He apparently received a four-year, 40 crore INR deal.
Along with Buttler, MI reportedly made a similar offer to Jofra Archer, and Jason Roy recently renounced his contract to go with KKR. Roy will next be seen playing for the LA Knight Riders in the upcoming Major League Cricket (MLC).
