Ten thousand meter world winner Uganda's Joshua Cheptegei has set a world record of five thousand meters with a spectacular comeback in the Diamond League held in Monaco. In this race Cheptegai has taken time of 12:35:36 minutes. Apart from this, on Friday, he has broken the record of 12:37:35 minutes set in 2004 by the great Kenenisa Bekele.

In February, this 23-year-old runner had set a record in Monaco. One website quoted Cheptegei as saying, 'I feel like Monaco is a special place for me and it is one of the places where I can break the world record. '

The runner further said, 'This year I had to work very hard to keep myself motivated because many people are staying in their homes, but you have to stay motivated. I worked very hard, I have the right staff, the right coach too. I usually live in Europe.'
