Journey of an acid attack survivor to a runway model !

An acid attack survivor Reshma Quereshi walked on a runway as a model and appeared to be a born model. She wore a beautiful gown designed by Archana Kochhar. Reshma looked very elegant on ramp and walked like a trained model but when focus on her face, shattered everyone and realizes her pain and psychological struggles.

In 2014, she was attacked by her brother-in-law with acid in the north Indian city of Allahabad, she had many painful skin grafts and even considered killing herself. But she met with hopes when she introduced to the founder of Make Love Not Scars - a group helping survivors of gender-based crimes - and she became the face of their online video campaign, reaching 1.3 million people.

FTI Moda, a fashion production company impressed by Reshma and invited her to open their show at New York Fashion Week on Thursday. Ms Quereshi, the daughter of a taxi driver couldn't believe in her destiny and said "I couldn't believe it was happening to me, in that moment I felt extremely happy." This is the first time when she travelled to abroad and for the fashion show.

She through her translator said New York is 'Very Nice'. Quereshi also added she hopes her modelling will inspire other acid attack survivors and encourage countries to regulate the sale of cheap and widely-available acids.
She added: "No one else understands what an acid attack is except the survivors themselves.
"I do not want this to happen to anyone else." And she wants to punish every single attacker of acid.
