Chandigarh: Balkaur Singh and Charan Kaur, parents of the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, celebrated the arrival of a baby boy on Sunday, nearly two years after the singer's tragic demise in Punjab.

Announcing the joyous news on his official Facebook page, Moosewala's father expressed gratitude for the blessings received from millions who cherished Sidhu. He joyously welcomed the newborn as Moosewala's younger brother, thanking Waheguru for the family's well-being and expressing heartfelt appreciation to all well-wishers for their unwavering love and support.

Previously, Balkaur Singh had refuted rumors about his wife's pregnancy at the age of 58, urging everyone to disregard such speculations. He emphasized the family's intention to share authentic updates with their supporters and cautioned against believing unfounded rumors circulating about them. According to media reports, Moosewala's mother underwent vitro-fertilization therapy (IVF) to conceive the baby, highlighting the family's determination to expand despite their tragic loss.

Sidhu Moosewala, aged 28, was tragically shot dead on May 29, 2022, in Mansa. The beloved Punjabi singer fell victim to a fatal shooting, succumbing to his injuries upon arrival at the Mansa Civil Hospital. The assailants mercilessly fired over 30 rounds at Moosewala, leaving him slumped in the driver's seat, shocking the local community.

Despite his untimely demise, Moosewala's legacy continues to resonate, marked by his significant influence in the Punjabi music industry and beyond. He notably contested in the last Assembly election from Mansa on a Congress ticket but faced defeat against AAP's Vijay Singla.

In a separate development, on November 23, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended Bishnoi in connection with a case pertaining to the alleged conspiracy to recruit youth for carrying out terror attacks in Delhi and various other parts of the country.
