New Delhi: BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda on Friday gave a tribute on behalf of PM Narendra Modi on the mortal remains of veteran Congress leader and former Himachal Pradesh CM Raja Virbhadra Singh at the historic Ridge Ground in Shimla and paid his last respects. Giving a final farewell to Virbhadra Singh, JP Nadda said that Virbhadra's political ideology and parties may have been different but he lived in the hearts of opponents because of his gentle behavior.

At the same time, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi also paid homage to former Himachal Pradesh CM Virbhadra Singh. The former CM had passed away on Thursday. Rahul Gandhi paid floral tributes to Singh on his mortal remains at the state Congress office 'Rajiv Bhawan,' accompanied by Congress Working Committee member Rajiv Shukla. Gandhi then expressed his grief by embracing Vikramaditya Singh, the son of the late leader and MLA from the Shimla rural area.

Earlier, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief JP Nadda paid homage to Singh on his mortal remains at ridge ground during which he was accompanied by CM Jairam Thakur. JP Nadda reached Shimla by helicopter from Delhi to pay homage to the departed leader. On July 5, when Nadda was on a visit to this hill state, he learned about Singh's health.
