On Friday, RRR star Jr. NTR joined the cast of Brahmastra for a promotional event in Hyderabad. While there, the actor offered some advice on how to handle the recent box office failures of several high-profile, big-budget movies. Read more about how Jr. NTR's flawless performance of the Rockstar song left Ranbir Kapoor speechless.
Jr. NTR stated, "They want something more than what we are currently delivering," in a letter to filmmakers and actors. I personally think that being under pressure causes us to work at our best. The pressure is good, and I believe the entire industry must rise to the occasion and produce quality, better films for our audience. I also want everyone to know that I am not disparaging anyone in this. Accept the challenge, keep going, and produce excellent movies for our audience.
He added, "I pray to God that Brahmastra is truly comes out as the brahmastra of our Indian film industry," to his earlier wish for Brahmastra's success.
The highest-grossing Indian movie of the year is RRR, starring Jr. NTR. It brought in $274 crore from the Indian box office alone and attracted interest from audiences abroad.
Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy were among the Brahmastra cast members present at the event on Friday. Also present were co-producer Karan Johar, Jr. NTR, and RRR director SS Rajamouli.
In addition, Karan urged everyone to stop categorising Indian cinema and start treating it as a single industry. He asserted that Bollywood or Tollywood should not be used to refer to Indian cinema, only the Indian film industry.
"We are attempting to reach every corner in our tiny way (of the country with our film). This is Indian cinema, as SS Rajamouli sir stated. Let's not use any other names for it. We keep giving it a Hollywood or Tollywood veneer. We have left the woods and are no longer in them. We are proudly part of Indian cinema. Each and every film will be now from Indian cinema," he said.
