New Delhi: Rouse Avenue Court reserved its verdict on the bail plea of Congress leader DK Shivkumar. The court has reserved this decision after hearing all the parties. The court will give its verdict on 25 September. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has opposed the bail plea of Congress veteran DK Shivkumar, accused in the money laundering case.
Appearing on behalf of ED, ASG (Additional Solicitor General) KM Natraj said that this is a serious economic crime, such crimes are dangerous for the country's economy, national security. There is a need to deal with them strictly, national interest is paramount. Natraj has said that Shiv Kumar kept avoiding questions, he did not cooperate in the investigation. When he was asked a question regarding the land of farming, he avoided the question by saying that nothing was known, he gave absurd answers to direct questions.
Shivkumar has deep penetration in the society, but a much deeper conspiracy is visible in this case, which is necessary to disclose. They can tamper with the evidence on bail. During the IT investigation, some witnesses gave statements, but after 7-8 months they turned around. He was influenced by the accused.
