New Delhi: The Lalit era is emerging in the history of the Supreme Court on Saturday. That is, today Justice Uday Umesh Lalit will be sworn in as the 49th Chief Justice (CJI), and four generations of his family will witness it. Justice U U Lalit's professional life, which began from his Mayur Vihar flat after coming to Delhi from Mumbai, now reached the swearing-in ceremony in the Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan. The next 74 days are to give smooth leadership to the judiciary of the country. We have to lead to a new system of reform.

In the country's capital Delhi, he made a mark as the top criminal lawyer, making a mark in the field of advocacy with his different style. He proved how a soft-spoken person with a gentle personality wins the case and hearts with his unsurpassed arguments, arguments. A clear understanding of the law, settled personality and simple style of explaining the intricacies of law set Justice Lalit apart and above the crowd. Justice Lalit's 90-year-old father Umesh Ranganath Lalit and grandchildren as the youngest members of the family are also the centre of the public eye at the swearing-in ceremony.

President Draupadi Murmu administers the oath of office to Justice Lalit. Justice Lalit's family has been a scholar of law and jurisprudence for more than a century i.e. many generations. Justice Lalit's grandfather Ranganath Lalit practised law in Solapur in Maharashtra, while his father Umesh Ranganath Lalit started practising from Solapur. He made a name for himself in law in Mumbai and Maharashtra and then became a judge in the Mumbai High Court.

However, the professional life of Amita Uday Lalit, wife of Justice Uday Umesh Lalit, is not related to advocacy. She is an educationist by profession and runs a children's school in Noida for decades. Justice Lalit's elder son Shreyas and his wife Raveena are both professional lawyers. Shreyas has chosen the profession of advocacy after doing mechanical engineering from ITI Guwahati. Younger son Harshad is in professional life in the US with his wife Radhika.
