In the country's capital Delhi, he made a mark as the top criminal lawyer, making a mark in the field of advocacy with his different style. He proved how a soft-spoken person with a gentle personality wins the case and hearts with his unsurpassed arguments, arguments. A clear understanding of the law, settled personality and simple style of explaining the intricacies of law set Justice Lalit apart and above the crowd. Justice Lalit's 90-year-old father Umesh Ranganath Lalit and grandchildren as the youngest members of the family are also the centre of the public eye at the swearing-in ceremony.

President Draupadi Murmu administers the oath of office to Justice Lalit. Justice Lalit's family has been a scholar of law and jurisprudence for more than a century i.e. many generations.
