NEW DELHI: On the occasion of Jyeshtha Ashtami, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent greetings to the Kashmiri Pandit community in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Taking to tweet, the Prime Minister prayed for everyone's well-being and prosperity. "On Jyeshtha Ashtami, greetings to all, especially my Kashmiri Pandit sisters and brothers. We invoke Mata Kheer Bhawani's blessings for everyone's health and prosperity "PM Modi sent out a tweet.

On this day, Kashmiri Pandits pray at the Kheer Bhawani temple in Jammu & Kashmir's Ganderbal region in honour of their patron goddess Ragnya Devi.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Mata Kheer Bhawani Mela at the famed Ragnya Devi temple near Srinagar is being held after a two-year hiatus.

The NGO Voice for Peace and Justice welcomed pilgrims to Mata Kheer Bhawani in Tullamullah Ganderbal on Tuesday. As a gesture of civic harmony, brotherhood, and peace, the organisation provided water, juice, and roses.
At a temple 25 kilometres northeast of Srinagar, one of the largest religious gatherings of the displaced population is taking place.
