Afghanistan officials said the deputy governor of Kabul province and his aide were killed on Tuesday by a bomb blast in the Afghan capital. The internal ministry said the deputy governor Mahbobullah Mohebi was killed when a bomb attached to his vehicle detonated while he was on his way to his office.
The Governor's secretary also travelling with him also lost his life. The blast also has wounded two bodyguards. After the peace talks in Qatar by the Taliban and Afghan government Violence has raged across the country since September. Afghanistan particularly the capital Kabul have seen several murders of prominent figures, including journalists, clerics, politicians and rights activists. A female news anchor was shot dead in the eastern city of Jalalabad, last week, the second of such attack on Journalist in less than a month. Rockets attacked the capital city hard twice this month. Very recently, attack on educational centres, including a massacre of students at a university campus too happened.
In the capital city on a separate attack, a policeman was killed and two others wounded when gunmen attacked their checkpoint, officials said. The Government negotiators from Qatar are expected to return to the Afghanistan capital to meet senior officials pausing the peace talks. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and some other senior officials have called for talks to be moved to Afghanistan from Doha.
