Kabul: At least three people have lost their lives in two separate attacks in Afghanistan's capital Kabul on Sunday. The day before, the capital was attacked by mortar shells. According to Firdaus Faramarz, spokesman for the head of the Kabul police, two people were killed and two others were injured in a blast in North Kabul by sticking bombs on a locked vehicle.
Faramarz also said that a prosecutor of the Government of Afghanistan in East Kabul was shot and killed. The police spokesman said that when the attack took place, prosecutors were going to their offices. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the recent attacks in Kabul. A day before the Sunday attacks, IS militants fired mortar shells on Kabul, killing one civilian and injuring another.
The radical organization IS claimed responsibility for the attack through its affiliated news website Amaq and said it had fired 10 rockets towards Hamid Karzai International Airport. The Ministry of Home Affairs said that three shells fell at the airport while other shells fell in the residential areas of the city. Talks between the Taliban and the Afghan government continue in Qatar. Meanwhile, violence has increased in the country in recent months.
