Rifle shooter Kajal Saini, who returned home on Friday after winning two medals in the ongoing 13th South Asian Games in Nepal, has said this. Earlier, Kajal also won gold and bronze medal in the 14th Asian Shooting Championship held in Doha city of Qatar in November. He has won the name of the country by winning four international medals in a month.
South Asian gold medalist Kajal Saini says it was not easy for her to win the international medal. Because of this, apart from him, no other family member has ever played a shooting game nor did he know much about it. Despite this, the family supported him at every step. As a result, she managed to win four international medals in a month. Kajal is originally from Rohtak. She has been an NCC cadet at the Government Women College in Rohtak and she started shooting from NCC. Even though she had to face many problems in the beginning, Kajal did not give up.
He had to shift to his maternal uncle's house in Najafgarh in Delhi four years ago as there was no range for 50 meter rifle shooting practice in Haryana. From here, she leaves every day for the Dr. Karani Singh Shooting Range in Tughlakabad. She used to practice there all day and return in the evening. On reaching Najafgarh, Kajal was given a grand welcome. Kajal said that his next goal is to prove his place in the Indian team by performing well in the upcoming trials for the Tokyo Olympics.
Significantly, India has an Olympic quota in the 50 meter rifle three position. He said that despite the shooting game being very expensive, his parents never let him face money during training.
