Kamal Haasan's highly anticipated film "Indian 2" was released on July 12, and despite a strong opening day collection of Rs 25.6 crore, the film's earnings have been declining steadily. The film's total collection after eight days is Rs 71.55 crore, making it challenging for it to reach the Rs 100 crore mark.

"Indian 2" is the sequel to the 1996 classic film "Indian" and had generated significant hype before its release. However, negative word-of-mouth and stiff competition from other films, including Prabhas's "Kalki 2898" and Vicky Kaushal's "Bad News", have affected its performance at the box office.

The film's daily collection has been dwindling, with Rs 18.2 crore on day two, Rs 15.35 crore on day three, Rs 3 crore on day four, Rs 3 crore on day five, Rs 3.3 crore on day six, and Rs 1.95 crore on day seven. The film's eighth-day collection is Rs 1.15 crore, according to early trends.

The film faces a tough road ahead, with Vicky Kaushal's "Bad News" receiving a positive response from audiences and posing a significant challenge to "Indian 2" in the Hindi belt. The film's ability to attract viewers in its second weekend will be crucial in determining its overall success.

"Indian 2" boasts an impressive star cast, including Kamal Haasan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Siddharth, and was released in three languages - Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
