Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut has also joined the debate on social media over Uttarakhand CM Tirath Singh Rawat's comments on women wearing ripped jeans. However, like others, Kangana did not condemn CM Rawat, but rotated the rumor and supported him. She shared a picture of her on Twitter, showing her wearing ripped jeans. She also gave fashion tips to the youth.

According to media reports, Kangana tweeted, "If you want to wear ripped jeans, make sure that you have the same coolness as they are in these photos. It shows your style and not the thought that you are a homeless beggar and they don't get money from their parents. However, most youths nowadays look similar."

CM Rawat had recently commented on women wearing ripped jeans, after which the issue started trending on Twitter. He made the remarks about a female co-passenger who was sitting next to him on the flight and runs an NGO. Referring to her attire, the CM had questioned what kind of 'value' a woman would give, wearing such torn jeans and showing her knees.
