Kangana urges Mumbai court to record her sister Rangoli Statement in Defamation case

The controversial Queen of Bollywood Kangana is once again in news. As the actress has approached a court in Mumbai, requesting it to record the statement of her sister Rangoli Chandel in the defamation case filed By Javed Akhtar. As Kangana wants to protect the true information and facts of the case.

According to the recent reports, Kangana moved the application through her lawyer Advocate Rizwan Siddique on Friday before Metropolitan Magistrate R.R. Khan. The court kept the matter in order on August 11.

What was the case about

Javed Akhtar filed a defamation complaint against Kangana Ranaut in 2020, claiming that the actress had made defamatory statements against him in a television interview after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. After this Kangana Ranaut also moved a counter-complaint in the court against Mr. Akhtar for alleged "extortion and criminal intimidation" before the metropolitan magistrate court.

Kangana in her complaint stated it as "malafide intentions and ulterior motives and then criminally intimidated and threatened" Kangana also accused him of intervening between her and Hritik matter. She said that Javed had called a meeting in March 2016 where he had tried to intimidate her. She, too, has filed a complaint against Javed over the same meeting in 2016 and alleged that Javed was extorting an apology from her.
