The news of Kannada actor Chetan Kumar being detained in the midst of the ongoing burqa controversy in Karnataka has come to light. Action has been taken against him for the tweet in which he has also raised questions on Justice Krishna Dixit of Karnataka High Court related to the hearing of this case. Chetan Kumar has been detained by the police from Bangalore late on Tuesday (22 February 2022). Taking suo motu cognizance of his tweet, the police registered an FIR and he has been detained. Police has said about this that actor and human rights activist Chetan Kumar has been detained for his tweet.

Taking suo motu cognizance in this case, an FIR has also been registered under 505 (2) and 504 at Seshadripuram police station. Before this, on February 22, Chetan's wife Megha had also alleged that her husband had disappeared after being taken away by some police officers. Going herself live on the social media platform, Megha alleged that Chetan was taken away from her house without any prior notice or legal notice and now her whereabouts are not known. Megha alleged, “Chetan's phone is switched off, his gunman's phone is also switched off. I also checked at Seshadripuram police station, they have said that Chetan is not in their custody and has taken him somewhere else for questioning. It's a kind of kidnapping."

What is the matter: Actually, Chetan Kumar has also retweeted one of his old tweets about Justice Krishna Dixit on 16 February. In the old tweet, he has also commented on the bail granted by Justice Dixit to a rape accused. While retweeting this, he has also commented on the involvement of Justice Krishna Dixit in the hearing of the Hijab controversy.
