Kannauj: In Kannauj, stone-pelting took place between the Samajwadi Party workers and the police during the nomination for the post of president in the Bhoomi Vikas Bank on Wednesday. The police baton-charged on the party workers. The angry activists started throwing stones, shouting slogans. Police and PAC reached the spot and lathi-charged to disperse the crowd.

On the other hand, six more patients died on Tuesday of Corona in Kanpur. 272 new cases of coronavirus reported in Kanpur. One of the dead patients had symptoms of meningitis along with kidney disease. Others also had diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, along with infection. The death toll from Corona has now reached 389. A total of 13196 and 4244 infected have been cured. There are 3293 active cases. Halat and four patients of two infected died in private hospitals. A 71-year-old man from Birhana Road in Halat and a 50-year-old man from Chamanganj died.
