New Delhi: Political debate over the name of the next Chief Minister in the state has intensified after the name of former CJI Ranjan Gogoi as the next 'possible' CM face of BJP in Assam. Former Assam CM and senior Congress leader Tarun Gogoi has said that former CJI and sitting Rajya Sabha MP Ranjan Gogoi could be BJP's chief ministerial candidate in the next assembly elections.

There is only a few months left in the Assam Assembly elections. Due to the increasing cases of Corona in the state, electoral politics was not being discussed openly until now. But who would be the next CM in Assam, the statements of some BJP leaders regarding this definitely has surfaced. Meanwhile, Tarun Gogoi has named the former CJI in a way to create an atmosphere of electoral politics in the state.

What is the politics behind the name of the former Chief Justice as the next possible Chief Ministerial candidate of Assam? Responding to this, former CM Tarun Gogoi told a private news channel that, "Some people of RSS are taking the name of Ranjan Gogoi. Those same people have also informed some leaders of Congress in this regard. Some of its people have come to know that Ranjan Gogoi may be the BJP's possible CM candidate in Assam this time. It is not strong information but I doubt that this can be true."
