Kanpur: For the past few days, many shocking cases are coming from Uttar Pradesh. On June 22, a lab technician Sanjit Yadav (28) from Barra, Kanpur was kidnapped by his colleagues. On June 26, he was murdered and his body was thrown into the Pandu River. On July 13, a ransom of 30 lakh was also recovered. While disclosing the case on Thursday night, five people including friends Kuldeep, Rambabu have been taken into custody.

Police said in their statement that Kuldeep used to work with Sanjeet for collecting samples. He has rented a room in Ratanlal Nagar. On the night of 22 June, on the pretext of drinking liquor, he brought Sanjeet to his room. He was taken, hostage. He was kept hostage by giving anaesthesia injection for 4 days. On 26 June, Kuldeep along with his friend Rambabu and three others killed Sanjeet. After that, Kuldeep returned by throwing the dead body into the Pandu River.

Three days later, on the evening of June 29, they called Sanjeet's father Chaman Singh Yadav and demanded ransom. At the behest of the police, the family arranged for 30 lakh rupees by selling the house, jewellery, and handed over to the kidnappers on 13 July. But the police could not catch the kidnappers, and they escaped with 30 lakhs. Kanpur SSP Dinesh Kumar said that "During interrogation, the accused revealed that they had murdered the victim on 26 June, and the corpse was then dumped in the Pandu River. Teams have been formed to recover the dead body. The case is now being investigated by the police.
