These days the trends of Boycotting films are at its Peak. Various BigBudget Bollywood films are struggling in theatre. The Hindi films that were released over the past few weeks – Aamir Laal Singh Chaddha, Akshay Kumar-starrer Raksha Bandhan, and Anurag Kashyap's Dobaaraa - have all faced calls of boycott, and these trends directly affected their Box office earning. Now Kapil Sharma gave his reaction to the Boycott trend.
In a recent interview when Kapil Sharam was asked about Boycott trends, “Pata Nahi sir, me Itna intellectual Aadmi Nahi. Meri abhi apni film aayi nahi hai. Par ye trend vrend chalte rehte hai. Ye sab waqt ki baat hoti hai. (I do not know, I am not that intellectual. I do not have a film release as of now. But, these trends keep coming. It is just a matter of time)."
Kapil further added, "Maine to Nahi Suna Unki koi movie boycott hui. Sir, ye Twitter ki duniyaa se mujhe door rakho. Mai Badi Mushkil se Nikla hoon (I have not heard any such boycott against his films. Please let me stay away from the world of Twitter, it took a lot to come out of that).”
Kapil Sharma is now gearing up for the new season of his popular show The Kapil Sharma Show. The last season of The Kapil Sharma Show aired in June this year. Meanwhile, earlier Kapil’s shows were also Boycotted. After Sushant Singh Rajput's demise, The Kapil Sharma Show actor Kiku Sharda mimicked an Indian journalist extensively covering SSR’s death for a segment on the show. Krushna Abhishek and Kapil were also included in the segment. The parody of SSR's death's news coverage did not sit well with his admirers and started the hashtag 'Boycott Kapil Sharma Show' had also trended on Twitter. They started Boycotting it.
