New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday heard the case of Abdullah Azam, son of former Uttar Pradesh government minister Azam Khan, forging birth certificates. Meanwhile, advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Abdullah Azam, admitted in the court that two birth certificates of Abdullah Azam had been issued. He argued in the court that the passport officer had also accepted these certificates. This is not a forgery.

At the same time, the top court said that the second certificate has been issued on the basis of your affidavit. To this, Kapil Sibal said, "This is not a forgery. When we are assuming that, two certificates have been issued. Charges have been framed in this case.'' The charge sheet has been filed. To this, the Supreme Court asked Sibal, "Do you have a copy of the charge sheet that has been filed?" To this, Sibal said that the copy of the charge sheet will be filed in a week's time. In such a situation, give one week's time. After which the court postponed the hearing of the case to next Monday.

What's the whole matter?

On January 3, 2019, an FIR was lodged by BJP leader Akash Saxena at the Ganj police station in Rampur. It had alleged that Azam Khan and his wife helped his son Abdullah get two fake birth certificates. One of them has been made from Lucknow and the other from Rampur. Abdullah, Azam Khan and his wife have been made accused of the fake birth certificate case. Not only this, but Abdullah Azam is also facing trial for possessing two passports and two PAN cards. The case is pending in the MPMLA court.
