In the year 1999, there was a war between India and Pakistan, which is known as the Kargil war and in this war, Indian lions beat Pakistani jackals. This Victory of the Indian Army is known as Kargil Vijay Diwas. Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year on 26 July. The date of 26 July is recorded in golden letters in Indian history. Many sons had sacrificed their lives in making India victorious in this battle and many sons had managed to heap enemies. One of them includes Dasharatha Singh Gurjar.

Dasaratha Singh Gurjar of Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, fought fiercely with enemies. Even today, when he remembers that moment, his chest becomes wide with pride. Recalling the 1999 Kargil war, he says that along with Pakistani soldiers, our bunkers were also captured by terrorists. The war had started and for the first 4 days, we did not eat anything. Dasaratha was the launcher firer. He just saw the target and enemies of Kargil Vijay in front of him.

Dasaratha Singh, while narrating the things during the war, says that bullets were being fired from all four sides. The only goal in front of the eyes was to protect Mother India. During that time, we had forgotten family. Dasharatha Singh Gurjar's platoon consisted of 22 commandos and was leading the contingent.

Regarding his responsibilities, Dashrath said that my task was to climb the steep hills with a heavy rocket launcher on his shoulder and then leave the rocket on the Pakistani bunker. Where I and my team had demolished many bunkers in Pakistan. We had won such a war in Kargil that the Pakistanis were also forced to kneel. Dasaratha is a resident of Gurjar Burdia village of Mandsaur. Kargil war lasted for 40 days.

In the Kargil war, India killed 3 thousand Pakistani soldiers. 527 soldiers of India were killed in this war and the number of wounded Indian soldiers was 1363.
