India has been performing brilliantly in the 13th South Asian Games. Now Karnal shooter Anish Bhanwala has targeted gold. According to the results declared at 3:30 pm on Saturday afternoon, Anish has scored 31 scores in the team category in the 25m rapid fire pistol. In the singles category too, Anish has won the gold medal.

2700 players from seven countries (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, and Nepal) are participating in 26 games in the 10-day South Asian Games held in Nepal. Nepal is hosting these games in the third (1984, 1999) and after about 20 years.

Anish, the youngest player to win gold in shooting in the Commonwealth Games of 2018, has won the President Award twice. Born on 26 September 2002, Anish is a Class 12 student from Arts in Manav Rachna International School, Faridabad, and practices at the shooting range. Anish was born in village Bhanwala in Sonepat. The father is a lawyer by profession who lives in Sector-6 Karna Vihar, Karnal.

His father Jagpal Bhanwala has told that Anish left for the championship held in Nepal on 30 November and will return on 9 December. He is the first shooter to make a World Record in youngest India. Anish, a 16-year-old shooting player from Karnal, set a world record with 30 points in a 25-meter rapid fire pistol at the Commonwealth Games in Australia last year. He has been honored with the President's Child Award at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi for this achievement.
