Bengaluru district administrations are on high vigilant after 13 students of a government-run residential hostel in Hassan and 7 medical college students, including an internee, tested positive for Covid-19, the health department officials stated on Tuesday.

Authorities have sealed off the Morarji Desai hostel in Guramaranahalli hamlet in Channarayapatna taluk of Hassan and the Chamarajanagar Medical Sciences Institute after positive cases were discovered. All of the hostel's infected students have been sent to a Covid Care Center. According to the health department, everyone is asymptomatic and healing nicely. It was determined to undertake tests on the afflicted students' primary contacts.

The infections were found in the health department's standard RT-PCR tests, which were conducted every 15 days. The hostel students that are infected with Covid-19 are in grades 6 to 10. They've all been quarantined and are receiving treatment.

The Covid tests were administered to 325 Chamarajanagar Medical Sciences Institute students, seven of whom tested positive. About 500 of the students' and staff's key contacts were tested, and the results were negative. A total of 150 pupils were tested, and the results are still being expected. The district administrations have begun a close watch on the situation and are working to keep the virus contained within the clusters. The contagious sickness has not yet spread to residential areas, which is a good thing.
