Karnataka adds 107 new Omicron cases, total tally climbs to 333

Karnataka: On Thursday, Karnataka reported 107 Omicron variant COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 333, according to state Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar. "On January 6th, 107 new Omicron cases were confirmed in Karnataka, bringing the total number of Omicron cases to 333," Sudhakar tweeted.

Meanwhile, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare announced on Friday that the country has reported 3,007 cases of Omicron variant so far. The state with the most Omicron cases (876) is Maharashtra, followed by Delhi (465). So far, two people have died in India as a result of the Omicron strain, one in Rajasthan and the other in Odisha.

According to the Union Health Ministry, India reported 1,17,100 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the country's daily positive rate to 7.74 percent. With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has increased to 3,52,26,386.

According to the Ministry, India's active caseload is currently at 3,71,363. It accounts for 1.05 percent of all cases in the country. The weekly optimism rate is 4.54 percent, and the daily optimism rate is 7.74 percent. With the recovery of 30,836 patients in the last 24 hours, the total number of COVID patients recovered since the outbreak began currently stands at 3,43,71,845. The recovery rate is currently at 97.57 percent. In the previous 24 hours, 302 more people have died in the country, bringing the total death toll to 4,83,178.
