Bangalore: With the assembly elections in Karnataka drawing near, the rhetoric of the leaders has also intensified. In this episode, former Karnataka CM and veteran BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa has attacked former CM Jagadish Shettar who joined the Congress. Addressing an election meeting in Hubli, he said, "I will give in writing with blood that Jagadish Shettar will not win from here."
Let us tell you that Congress leader Jagadish Shettar is contesting from Hubli Dharwad Central Assembly Constituency in Karnataka. Due to not getting the ticket for the assembly elections from the BJP, the senior Lingayat leader of the state and former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar is contesting the elections by joining the Congress. Shettar is contesting for the seventh time from the Hubli Dharwad Central assembly constituency. While the Congress is trying to woo the Lingayat voters of the state by projecting him, the BJP is working on a plan to defeat Shettar in his own stronghold.
BS Yeddyurappa called a conference of Lingayats in Hubli on Tuesday night and told the people how the party made Jagadish Shettar an MLA, Minister, Assembly Speaker, Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly and even the CM. But he has cheated the party, broken the trust and therefore Jagadish Shettar should not win at any cost. Yeddyurappa even said in the meeting that he himself would hold a rally and roadshow in Hubli. PM Narendra Modi will also come to Hubli. The party will work unitedly to defeat Shettar.
