Bengaluru: BJP, Congress and Janata Dal-Secular have exerted their full strength in the by-elections held after the disqualification of 17 MLAs of Congress and JDS in Karnataka. Before the election to be held on December 5, former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of buying and selling MLAs.

Kumaraswamy said that if something goes wrong in the election, BJP has done so for the sake of precaution and it is trying to sell some more MLAs. On November 25, senior BJP MLA in Karnataka and party president Arvind Limbavali for the December 5 by-election, claimed that many MLAs of the JDS are in touch with him and expressed their desire to join the BJP. He also said that the statements of JDS leaders indicated that during the by-elections in the state, if the BJP government fails to get the required data for the majority, then in this situation they want to support the government. The results of the by-elections in Karnataka will come on December 9.
