Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will convene a meeting on Monday at 12.30 pm to evaluate the current COVID-19 scenario in the state, ahead of the meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting will take place at the home office of the Chief Minister in Krishna.
Bommai will meet with his Cabinet ministers, the chairman of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), Sudarshan, and other committee members. Bommai stated on Sunday that the state government will provide recommendations following a video conference meeting with Prime Minister Modi on Wednesday.
Due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in the country over the last two weeks, the Prime Minister will hold a meeting with Chief Ministers via video conferencing on Wednesday to review the situation. Bommai informed reporters, "The Union administration has already issued a warning signal."
"In the recent 8-10 days, there has been a modest uptick in cases in Kerala and Maharashtra. Experts have also recommended appropriate preventive actions based on the previous three waves' experience "he added.
On Sunday, Karnataka reported 60 new cases of the virus, with no fatalities and a 0.72 percent positivity rate. There were 1,676 active cases in the state.
