BENGALURU: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Saturday that he met with students from the state who are stranded in war-torn Ukraine and told them that all essential support will be provided.

"I've had conversations with those students. I've assured them of my full support and urged them to be brave "he stated

Many Indians are stranded in Ukraine's various cities. "Everyone is fine, I have requested the authorities to give food and shelter. I have already spoken in length with External  Affairs Minister S. Jaishakar and we have also sent a list to him," he said.

More students have arrived in western Ukraine, and they have been warned to be cautious. By road and air, all of the students will be evacuated.  "We'll find out whether anyone from Karnataka is coming back to the country today," he said.

Those in western Ukraine are safe, and attempts are being made to bring them back. They will be evacuated through the road. He added that many of them are on their way. Students stranded in western Ukraine will be sent to India via Romania. All Indian students would be evacuated in a matter of days. Students in Ukraine's eastern and south-eastern regions should not take risks and should remain where they are unless ordered otherwise, according to Bommai.
