HYDERABAD: Telangana's ruling party Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has said that the results of assembly polls in Karnataka will have no impact on Telangana.

K T Rama Rao, better known as KTR, the working president of BRS and a Telangana minister, tweeted on Saturday, May 13 that the Karnataka election results would not affect Telangana in the same manner as The Kerala Story had failed to amuse the people of that state.

K T Rama Rao, who is currently on a visit to the United Kingdom, thanked the people of Karnataka for rejecting 'ugly and divisive politics'. "Let Hyderabad and Bangalore compete healthily for investments and  creating infrastructure for the greater good of India," he said.

KTR, the son of Telangana Chief Minister and BRS President K. Chandrasekhar Rao, sent his congratulations to the newly elected Congress administration in Karnataka.

After Telangana Congress chairman A. Revanth Reddy asserted that this election result would replicate itself in Telangana, KTR maintained that the Karnataka verdict would not have any impact on Telangana.

Telangana is slated to hold its assembly elections at the end of the year.

BRS, which set up the state's first administration in 2014 and kept it in place in 2018, is convinced it will complete a hat trick.
The Congress is expecting that 2023 will turn its political fortunes in the state around after failing to make an impact despite taking credit for creating Telangana state.

The outcome in Karnataka, where the BJP was unable to retain power, appears to have the Congress camp feeling optimistic.

Despite the BJP's claims that it has emerged as the main rival to the BRS, Congress leaders are certain that the party will replicate its Telangana performance.
