Bengaluru: Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a fool to take advantage of the surgical strikes. "He [Modi] is a fool. Taking political advantage of surgical strikes is a big mistake. Our armed forces carried out the surgical strike. Did he [Modi] carry a gun to do a surgical strike? Why is he [Modi] claiming credit for it?" he said. He stressed that it was the Army and the Air Force that carried out the surgical strikes and air strikes asking whether he carried out a gun to take part in the surgical strike.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi hit out at West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee over the neighboring country (Bangladeshi) actor Ferdous Ahmed, who campaigned for the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal. Modi asked if it has ever happened in any other country.

Addressing a rally in West Bengal's Buniadpur, PM Modi stressed that “Speed Breaker Didi” can go to any extent for vote bank politics. Evoking the murder of Purulia BJP worker, PM assured the party cadre of the state that justice will be done and strict action will be taken against those who are responsible for such acts.

In the meantime, the Congress party is set to address a presser in the national capital over its alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).  This development has come after the party President Rahul Gandhi openly tweeted their offer to give up four seats to AAP in Delhi. However, reports suggest that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is adamant on seat-sharing in other states as well.
