State eases corona restrictions, reopens shrines and amusement parks

The Karnataka government on Saturday announced further relaxation of corona restrictions as part of its unlocking process. In a statement issued by the Principal Secretary of the State today, the State Government said that it has approved the opening of temples, mosques, churches, gurudwaras, and other shrines and sanctioned activities related to places of worship.

 

 

It also informed that the corona rules and SOP issued by the department attached to July 25 have to be strictly followed. The statement further stated that amusement parks and similar locations are allowed to strictly follow corona rules and guidelines. However, water sports or adventure activities related to water are not approved.

In Karnataka, 30 more patients died on Friday as 1,705 new corona cases were reported. With this, the total number of infected persons has gone up to 28,91,699 and the death toll has gone up to 36,323. According to a bulletin issued by the Health Department, 2,243 patients were free from infection in the state, after which the total number of people cured has increased to 28,31,226. Out of a total of 1,705 new cases reported in the state, 400 cases are from Bengaluru city. 24,127 patients are now undergoing treatment in the state. A total of 3,75,51,620 samples have been tested in the state so far.
