Bangalore:  Karnataka Chief Minister Basvaraj Bommai wants to make Karnataka a "model state" by creating jobs and empowering people economically. Bommai made the remarks after laying the foundation stone for a number of development projects in Naragund.

"Karnataka would be developed as a model state in the country, with job opportuniteis for all Kannadigas and economic empowerment for the people. Nobody is going to be able to stop me in my quest "Bommai remarked.

"The foundation stone for the project was done due to the commitment of the erstwhile Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and the Water Resources Minister KS Eshwarappa," Bommai said of the project, as the Congress plans to organise a "padayatra" to oppose the Kalasa Banduri project.

"This is something we should keep in mind. Their party's leadership had vowed that no water would be permitted to flow into Karnataka. This is something that people should be aware of "Bommai remarked.

"The Tribunal judgment has been published in the Gazette by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We'll be able to get our hands on some water. It's important to recall who lashed out at the farmers and women who were protesting the project "Bommai went on to say.
