Bangalore: The Basavaraj Bommai government in Karnataka has announced to relax the corona-related restrictions across the state. Night curfew in the state will be lifted from January 31. All schools in the capital Bengaluru will be allowed to start offline classes from Monday, strictly following the Covid guidelines.

With this, hotels, bars and pubs have been allowed to open with 50 per cent capacity except for cinema halls in the state. 300 people will be allowed to gather at outdoor weddings, while 200 members will be allowed to enter indoor weddings. It will be mandatory for people entering the state from Maharashtra, Goa, Kerala to show covid negative certificates.

The state has recorded 31,198 new cases of corona on Friday, which is about 7,000 less than Thursday. With 15,199 cases, Bengaluru accounted for nearly 50 per cent of the day's infections. The state also reported 50 deaths on Friday, of which eight were from Bengaluru. As many as 71,092 were discharged from the hospital in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 33,96,093.
