Bangalore: Heavy rain has also been raining in different parts of Karnataka for the past 24 hours. Three people have died so far due to this. There are flood situations in many areas, landslides have occurred at eight places. About nine thousand people have been evacuated safely. The government has issued a red alert for seven districts in view of the flood situation.

In the wake of heavy rains across the state, I direct all district in-charge ministers and MLAs to be present in their respective districts and constituencies to oversee rescue and relief efforts being carried out by district administrations. (1/2)

Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa reviewed the flood situation with officials on Friday. Ministers and MLAs in charge of all districts were asked to monitor relief operations in their areas. CM Yediyurappa said the government will help the farmers who have been harmed by unseasonal rains and hailstorms and will also provide all necessary help in relief and rescue operations. Yediyurappa also tweeted about it, saying all-district in-charge ministers and MLAs have been instructed to monitor the rescue and relief efforts being made by the district administration. They have since been asked to be present in their respective districts and constituencies.

Yediyurappa spoke to the district commissioners and reviewed the situation arising out of incessant rains in many parts of the state. The state government will provide all necessary assistance for relief and rescue efforts and help farmers suffering due to unseasonal rains and hailstorms.
