Bengaluru: The Supreme Court is hearing the ban on hijab in schools and educational institutions in Karnataka. In fact, during the eighth round of hearing in the Supreme Court, both sides presented their arguments. In fact, the Karnataka High Court's order upholding the ban on Muslim students wearing hijab has been challenged in the Supreme Court. Senior advocate Dushyant Dave, appearing for the petitioners, argued before the apex court, "Hijab is a symbol of dignity. A Muslim woman looks as dignified as a Hindu woman, she looks honoured when she covers her head with a sari.''

The hearing is still going on in court. On Dushyant Dave's argument here, the judges said, 'Uniform is different. This makes everyone look the same. Whether the student is rich or poor, everyone is seen in the same clothes and looks when wearing a uniform.' At the same time, during the hearing here, the mention of the decision given on Sabarimala also came. Here Dushyant Dave said, 'There is a difference between the Sabarimala verdict and the Hijab case. Everyone sees the Almighty in different ways. Those who go to Sabarimala wear black clothes, that is the tradition. Everyone has the right to enjoy religious freedom in the most individual and individualistic way possible.'

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the respondent, submitted the Karnataka government's order recommending that all girl students reach school in uniform.
