Mysuru:  R Dhruvanarayana, the working president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) and a former member of parliament, passed away on Saturday morning in a hospital in Mysuru.

The death of the Congress politician was confirmed by medical personnel at the DRM Multi Speciality Hospital in Mysuru.

"At 6.40 am, R Dhruvanarayana's driver took him to the hospital after he complained of chest problems. But, he did not live "a hospital doctor named Dr. Manjunath said.

From 2009 to 2019, Dhruvanarayana served as a member of parliament for the Chamarajanagar Lok Sabha district.
Rahul Gandhi, a member of Congress, expressed sympathy for Dhruvanayana's passing and described it as a significant loss for the party.

"Sadly, Shri R Dhruvanarayan, a former MP, passed away suddenly. He was a social justice advocate who ascended through the ranks of the National Student Union and the Youth Congress. He was a dedicated and modest grassroots leader. His demise leaves the Congress party with a severe loss. My sympathies go out to his family "Gandhi Rahul said.

Randeep Singh Surjewala, a prominent member of the Congress and member of the Rajya Sabha, also offered his condolences for Dhruvanayana's passing.

"No words can explain the irreparable loss of our ever-smiling friend, our leader & probably the most dedicated foot soldier of Congress, Sh. Dhruvanarayan. We shall never forget you, my friend, as a committed advocate for the underprivileged and ardent supporter of the disadvantaged. RIP," he  said.

Srinivas BV, the national president of the Indian Youth Congress, expressed his sorrow at the passing of the Congress leader in Karnataka. "beyond words disappointed and shocked. As a former MP and working president of the KPCC, R Dhruvanarayana ji, his passing crushes my heart. May serenity come to his soul. I'm sending my prayers and support to his family, friends, and coworkers "In a tweet, he said.
