The Karnataka opposition party Congress complained the state government and district, in-charge ministers are not taking enough measures to help people the affected by the floods. The rain and the flood caused by opening the dams affected North Karnataka badly. People from more than 6 villages have been taken to relief camps and almost 500 livestocks were carried away in the flood. 

Northern Karnataka gets heavily flooded

Former chief minister and leader of opposition in the Assembly Siddaramaiah accused the District in-charge Ministers o fthe flood affected region are busy in bypolls. They have not stepped in  flood-hit areas to help people. He said the government must take immediate action to help those people. He blamed the government for not taking the precautionary measures as suggested by congress to prevent the floods seriously. An extent of INR 10,000- INR 15,000 crore damage is caused by the floods in Kalayana Karnataka region. He said by-polls will teach BJP a lesson, and accuses BJP for not asking the Centre to aid the floood affected people. 

48 people died due to floods in Maharashtra, Karnataka in critical condition

AICC general secretary in charge of Karnataka Randeep Singh Surjewala also accuses of BJP for not taking serious steps on the flood affected areas and urges CM to take necessary steps to support and compensate the affected. The Karnataka state Congress President D K ShivaKumar has requested the state to immediately release Rs 1 crore to each taluks hit by floods to take up urgent works. The compensation announced by the government to the families that loss foodgrains should be given within a week ha said.
