Karnataka Police investigating the murder case of Mohammad Fazil Mangalpet have detained four persons. Police sources said on Tuesday that the accused have been picked up from various places, including Uttara Kannada, Bangalore.

As requested by the family of Fazil, the police department formed a special team to find the murderers, which was led by an ACP rank officer. Police had arrested the driver of the car that had been used in the murder and had also taken Ajith Crasta into custody (40).

The official sources revealed that the police are sure that they can solve the case because they have solid information about the murderous group. They accused Suhas's gang, which had previously been linked to murder and attempted murder cases, of playing a part.

The identification of those who were arrested has not yet been confirmed. Later on in the day, the police department is probably going to reveal this.

On July 28 in the Surathkal town of the Dakshina Kannada district, Fazil was hacked to death. In the murder case, opposition parties had sought an unbiased investigation. Karnataka Chief Minister Baavaraj Bommai said, the police have been given full authority to carry out investigations and apprehend the murderers.

It is suspected that Fazil was killed by Hindu activists in retaliation to the killing of BJP Yiuva Morcha member Praveen Kumar Nettare.
