Bangalore: The Karnataka High Court has dismissed a PIL filed on the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC Exam 2021) exam. The petition was filed SSLC Exam quashing the 2021 notification. The state government had recently decided that the 2021 academic session SSLC Exam Karnataka would be held for 2020-21. The exams will be held on July 19 and July 22.

The high court passed the order saying that the state government had earlier decided to postpone the SSLC (10th) exam. The government had never repealed it. The exam is being conducted on the suggestion of the Expert Committee. The exam will be conducted in multiple choice questions (MCQ) format, making it easier for students to appear for the exam. The court also clarified that no student will be forced to appear for the examination by the state or parents. It will be the decision of the student and his parents.

The petition filed in the high court said that the examination should be quashed keeping in view the mental and physical health of students during the corona epidemic. It was argued that classes could not run in online mode throughout the year and students had a lot of problems understanding many subjects. However the court dismissed the petition after looking into the preparations of the state government after hearing it.
