Opening of Kartarpur Sahib corridor has come as a blessing for millions of worshippers and the credit goes to the Modi led BJP government. Senior BJP leader Gurrjit Singh Kohlii expressed the above views after paying visit to the Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara.

He called upon the Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi to further facilitate unfortunate people who do not have passports by doing away with the travel restrictions and ensuring “Khule Darshan Deedar” at Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara.

Kohlii further stated that the opening up of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor is one of the major achievements of BJP government adding, “ government officials in Pakistan said that they were in a position to accommodate 2000-3000 pilgrims from India during the 9 am -4 pm window every day.”

Citing the example of Nepal which has given a free passage to Indians for years, Kohlii said that something similar can be worked out for the pilgrims to  Kartarpur Sahib also. “This can be handled with additional security checks and increased vigilance,” he went on to add.

Sharing the details of his visit, Kohlii appreciated the hospitality extended to his delegation by the  Gurdwara Management. Being a true Sikh, he did not want to go to the Gurdwara Sahib empty handed, thus presented “siri sahib” made of real gold to the Gurdwara which was duly acknowledged and installed in the shrine.

Also, the Granthi ji presented Kohli with the “siropa” along with the photograph of Gurdwara Sahib.

It is noteworthy that this was the first delegation to Kartarpur Corridor out of the total three delegations planned by the BJP Punjab unit.

Former MLA from Moga Harjot Kamal, MLA Mukerian Jangi Lal Mahajan, General Secretary BJP Punjab Dyal Sodhi along with other senior members Vushal Sharma and Daman Bajwa were also part of the delegation.
