Karthi's latest outing Khakee a cop drama movie is doing a decent business at the box office. The movie is going superhit and has received a positive response. Within three days, the movie was set to hit the box office.

Khakee received rave reviews from the critics and the audience as well. The film clashed with Siddarth's Gruham and four other small films including London Babulu. But strong word of mouth helped the film remain strong at the ticket counters and made good collection in the first weekend.

The film has managed to collect Rs 5 crore on the first weekend at the ticket window. According to sources, these are career highest opening in Karthi's career. The film, directed by H Vinoth, also features Rakul Preet in the lead role.The movie is all about the life of a cop and the trials and tribulations he faces while fighting for the right. Karthi has considerable an following in the Telugu states. He has endeared himself to the Telugu audience through films like Awara, Cheliya and Oopiri.

The film has garnered Rs 3 crore gross at the box office in the Telugu states on the first day of its release. Trade sources say that the film is getting positive response in the B and C centres in both the Telugu states with an average occupancy of 75 per cent.
