Kartik Aaryan's latest film, Chandu Champion, has made an impressive start at the domestic box office, raking in Rs 5.4 crore on its first day, as announced by the film's makers on Saturday.
Directed by renowned filmmaker Kabir Khan, known for hits like Ek Tha Tiger, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, 83, and Kabul Express, Chandu Champion premiered in theaters on Friday to positive reviews from critics.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala's Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment in collaboration with Kabir Khan Films, the movie has quickly captured the audience's hearts.
In an official statement, the makers expressed their delight over the film's opening performance. "The tremendous love from the audience has led to an opening of Rs 5.4 crore at the Indian box office on day one. It's indeed a good start for the film, and with the buzz and excitement generated by strong word of mouth, we expect the collections to increase over the weekend," they stated.
Chandu Champion is inspired by the life of Murlikant Petkar, India's first Paralympic gold medalist. Kartik Aaryan stars in the title role, portraying a man through various stages of life, including his time as an Indian Army soldier, wrestler, boxer, 1965 war veteran, and swimmer.
The film also features notable performances by Vijay Raaz, Bhuvan Arora, and Rajpal Yadav in significant roles.
