New Delhi (India), July 27 (NT): Prime Minister Narendra Modi taking to twitter on Friday enquired about the poor health of the 94-year-old leader and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) superemo M Karunanidhi. He wished for his quick recovery.

The Prime Minister tweeted that he spoke to Karunanidhi's son MK Stalin and daughter Kanimozhi on the subject of the same.

"Spoke to Thiru @mkstalin and Kanimozhi Ji. Enquired about the health of Kalaignar Karunanidhi Ji and offered any assistance required. I pray for his quick recovery and good health," PM Modi wrote in micro blogging website.

Meanwhile, a number of political leaders including MDMK general secretary Vaiko, DMK's Dayanidhi Maran have visited Karunanidhi at his residence in Gopalapuram as ANI reported.

Expelled DMK leader M K Alagiri arrived at Gopalapuram to meet his father M. Karunanidhi.

Worth mention here Karunanidhi is at present undergoing treatment for fever due to Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) with intravenous antibiotics and fluids.

It is noted that He is also being monitored and treated 24 hours round the clock by a team of medical and nursing professionals. He is being providing hospital-level care at his home.

 On a related note Karunanidhi was admitted to Kauvery Hospital in the city for a tracheotomy procedure on July 18. (NT)
