This year the festival of Karwa Chauth is going to be celebrated on November 4. This fast is observed on the Chaturthi Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month every year. Married women observe fast for the long life of their husband. On the day of this fast, the married women perform the whole sixteen adornments and worship the moon. List of material to be used in Karva Chauth fast

Sandalwood, honey, incense sticks, flowers, raw milk, sugar, pure ghee, curd, sweets, Gangajal, Akshat (rice), vermilion, mehndi, Mahavar, comb, bindi, chunri, bangle, bichhua, earthen spout and lid, Deepak, cotton, camphor, wheat, sugar powder, turmeric, water pot, yellow clay for making Gauri, wood posture, sieve, Athavari of eight puris, halwa and money for Dakshina (donation) etc.

Do 16 Shringar - First, wear red coloured saree or lehenga. Wear sindoor, mangalsutra, bindi, nose ring, kajal, gajra, mehndi, ring, bangles, earrings, maang tika, waistband, armlets, bichua and anklets.

Sargi should be eaten before sunrise- It is said that women who observe fast for the first time should eat Sargi before sunrise. Keep in mind that while eating sargi, it is auspicious to face towards the south.

Importance of Moon worship in Karva Chauth- Moon is said to be a factor of age, happiness and peace. On the other hand, worshipping the moon keeps married life happy and the husband has a long life.

Karva Chauth auspicious time - This time the moonrise will be around 7:57 pm. Apart from this, on November 4, from 05:34 in the evening to 06: 52 in the evening is the auspicious time of worship of Karva Chauth.
